My Ferry Link ‘anti-competitive’

The Competition Commission has warned Eurotunnel that its Dover-Calais ferry operation may be anti-competitive. The Channel tunnel operator, which has more than a 40% share of the cross-Channel market, could be forced to sell its My Ferry Link  business if the provisional findings are confirmed.

Eurotunnel bought three ferries from the liquidated SeaFance for €60 million in May 2012, primarily to prevent DFDS Seaways and LD Lines from getting them for their rival service according to the competition watchdog. The full report is due to be published by 14 April.
