MV Oceana (2000/77,499gt) sailed from Southampton today for a multi-million pound refit in Hamburg. During a two-week docking period scheduled to finish on 20th December she will benefit from a £1 million refurbishment to her cabins. Le Club, the ship’s late night venue, will get a complete redesign, while the ship’s upholstery in The Plaza, Oasis Spa and Horizon Grill will also to be updated.
Oceana is the first of three P&O Cruises vessels due to undergo major refurbishment by 2014, with MV Ventura (2008/115,000gt) and MV Arcadia (2005/86,799gt) also getting makeovers. Ventura is scheduled to undergo docking between 22nd March and 7th April next year, followed by Arcadia in December 2013.
