MV Majestic Maersk

The Ultra Large Container Carrier, Majestic Maersk (2013/194,849gt) followed up her recent christening at her homeport of Copenhagen with a diversion off her AE10 rotation to make a maiden UK call at Felixstowe.

She is the second of twenty 18,270 TEU vessels on order from Daewoo Shipbuilding. With a length of 399 metres and a 59-metre beam, allowing 23 rows of containers, the so-called Triple E class vessels are currently  the largest container ships in the world. With their huge size the $185 million vessels are designed to make money by economy of scale.
