HMS Queen Elizabeth block move

Here’s a link to the time lapse movie we shot of a large section of the Royal Navy’s future HMS Queen Elizabeth being rolled-out for delivery. The module was loaded onto a sea-going barge at BAE Systems’ Portsmouth shipyard for transfer to Scotland.

The 6,000-tonne section of hull, which is known as Lower Block 02, was moved using a series of remotely-controlled transporters in a delicate six-hour operation. The barge is scheduled to be towed to Rosyth on 21 May, where it will be integrated with other completed sections of the aircraft carrier.
