Gary Davies, maritime photographer

Gary Davies is a Solent-based photographer and writer best known for his striking nautical images. More than 5,000 of his photographs have been published in a miscellanea of newspaper, defence, shipping and enthusiast titles. They have also illustrated postage stamps and even appeared in a James Bond movie!

During a full and varied career as a Royal Navy photographer and cameraman Gary won a number of awards for outstanding imagery. Now established as a freelance with 21+ years experience in creative photography for media, web and editorial output, he also specialises in eye-catching interactive 360° and panoramic photography.

In addition to life behind the lens, Gary has written hundreds of articles on photographic and naval matters for a number of international publications. A regular contributor to ‘Ships Monthly’ magazine, he currently compiles the monthly naval news feature.

Gary Davies is a former associate member of the British Institute of Professional Photography.
